Description
An unmissable excursion to explore the walkways of the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of Patagonia’s most iconic landscapes. The tour begins at your accommodation in El Calafate and extends along Provincial Route 11, bordering Lago Argentino and crossing the immensity of the Patagonian steppe.
During the trip, the guide will share information about the flora, fauna, and formation of the glaciers that make up the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. You will enjoy impressive landscapes of lakes, streams, forests, and snow-capped mountains.
Upon entering Los Glaciares National Park, you will stop at different panoramic viewpoints until you reach the western end of the Magellan Peninsula, the starting point for the visit to the walkways. This circuit has more than 5.5 km of trails at different levels, which allow you to appreciate the Perito Moreno Glacier from multiple angles and balconies. From there, you can contemplate its imposing front, its intense blue tones, the enormous ice walls, and hear the impressive detachments that make this experience a unique natural spectacle.
Optionally, you can add a short 1-hour boat trip, to appreciate the glacier from the water and contemplate its south face a few meters away.
After the excursion, you will return to El Calafate after having lived an unforgettable experience in direct contact with nature and one of the most famous glaciers in the world.
