Description
Travel from El Calafate to the heart of Los Glaciares National Park and discover El Chaltén, a charming mountain village known as the National Trekking Capital. During the journey along Route 40 and Route 23, you’ll enjoy spectacular landscapes: Argentino Lake, La Leona River, Viedma Lake, and unique views of Mount Fitz Roy and Mount Torre.
Accompanied by a professional tour guide, you’ll enjoy an interpretive tour with photo stops at the best viewpoints along the route, learning about the geography, fauna, and history of the region.
Upon arriving in El Chaltén, you’ll visit the National Parks Interpretation Center, where you’ll learn about the geological and natural history of Los Glaciares National Park. Then, you’ll take a short walk to the Mirador de los Cóndores (Condor Lookout), from where you’ll get panoramic views of the Río de las Vueltas valley and the surrounding mountains.
After the walk, you’ll enjoy an included lunch at a local restaurant, with a menu of typical Patagonian homemade food (drinks not included).
In the afternoon, the group will visit the Cascada Chorillo del Salto (Chorillo del Salto Waterfall), a beautiful waterfall surrounded by native forest, accessible by an easy walk. After a final moment of free time for photos, we’ll begin the return to El Calafate.
