Description

The Trekking and Canoeing in Ushuaia excursion offers a different and active way to discover Tierra del Fuego National Park, combining hiking, sailing, and nature in a unique environment. The experience includes a visit to Ensenada Bay, an 8 km trek along the coast of the Beagle Channel and the Fuegian forest, and a canoe trip from Lake Roca/Acigami to Lapataia Bay, allowing you to enjoy the End of the World amidst landscapes of sea, mountains, and forest. The excursion includes hot lunch in a dome next to the Lapataia River.

The activity begins with hotel pick up at 8:30 a.m., followed by a vehicle transfer to Tierra del Fuego National Park. Upon arrival at Ensenada Bay, the trek begins, accompanied by specialized guides, along the Coastal Path along the forest and the coast of the canal. During the journey, of approximately 3 hours, you will travel 8 km with panoramic views of the Beagle Channel and the islands of Redonda, Hoste and Navarino, in addition to observing the flora, birds and vestiges of ancient Yámanas settlements, native peoples of the region.

At the end of the walk, a hot lunch is offered on the banks of the Lapataia River, in a heated dome with panoramic views, ideal for resting and recharging your batteries.

After lunch, continue to Lake Roca/Acigami to begin the second part of the adventure. The guides provide rubber boots, overpants and life jackets for a low difficulty navigation in duckies-type inflatable canoes. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour, descending the Lapataia and Ovando rivers until reaching the sea, in Lapataia Bay, very close to the emblematic sign that marks the end of National Route No. 3.

The excursion ends with the return by vehicle to the city of Ushuaia, arriving at the hotels around 4:30 p.m., after having experienced Tierra del Fuego National Park in a different and adventurous way.

It is essential to wear appropriate clothing: waterproof jacket, warm sweater, trekking pants, thick socks, waterproof boots, hat and gloves for greater comfort.
