Description
The Lagos Offroad 4×4 tour offers an adventure-filled experience in Ushuaia, visiting Lago Escondido and Lago Fagnano aboard modern 4×4 vehicles. The route traverses trails of the Fuegian forest, crossing streams, natural viewpoints, and beaches. During the journey, you can appreciate unique panoramic views of the lake area, the valleys of the Andes Mountains, and the northern sector of the island of Tierra del Fuego, while traveling along alternative roads, learning about the history of the first logging operations, and enjoying lunch in a local refuge.
The tour begins with pick up from your hotel in Ushuaia starting at 8:00 a.m., and then departs in high-end 4×4 vehicles with the guide along National Route No. 3 in a northeast direction.
The first stop will be at the Mirador del Valle Carbajal, from where you get an excellent view of this valley of glacial origin crossed by the Olivia River. Afterwards, continue along the same route until you begin the offroad route along alternative roads that enter the Fuegian forest and allow you to cross the Andes Mountains.
Upon reaching the highest point of the mountain range, you arrive at the renowned Paso Garibaldi, where you get the first panoramic view of Lago Escondido and Lago Fagnano. From there, the descent begins along a winding road next to a cliff, which increases the adrenaline and leads to the head of Lago Escondido, entering the northern area of the island.
After visiting this lake, the tour continues along exclusive trails for 4×4 vehicles, entering the forest and crossing sectors formerly used for logging operations. This tour ends on the coast of Lago Fagnano, where you can see the Magallanes fault and explore its beaches aboard the vehicles.
To close the tour, we head to a restaurant in the area, surrounded by the Patagonian forest, where you can enjoy lunch. Afterwards, we return to the city of Ushuaia around 4:00 p.m., after having lived an intense and unforgettable adventure at the End of the World.
